2/9/2011 10:00:03 AM I took the largest decoy bag I had and cut it up both sides, cut a hole out in the middle for my head and made a pancho. My kids had outgrown a crap ton of camo, so I took all that and cut into strips of different lengths. I used Spiderwire fishing line to tie the strips to the decoy bag every 4 or 5 inches or so. I took another piece of decoy bag from a smaller bag I had and cut a piece for a hood. Put strips on this and attached it to the “pancho” with 550 cord. Melted all ends showing with a lighter so they won’t fray. On one end the bottom 2 feet or so are still just the mesh bag. You can cover your back, shoulders, and down to your chest, or turn it around and it will cover your front, shoulders, and top of your back. This way I can sit up against a tree/bush or whatever, put my rifle up on some shooting sticks under the Ghillie Suit and let it all hang down so that the my human silhoutte disappears. Or turn it around and go prone. When prone I have to tuck in the hood of course and use natural veg on a Ghillie Suit or hat. Put it on, roll in the mud, drag it through a nasty creek, whatever. Some spray paint between tan/green depending on the time of year and some veg from the area and I am good to go. When it warms up I will go get it out of the barn and get some pics for ya. Kampster 2/9/2011 10:32:51 AM Back when I was in the military our Cav scouts made their own. They simply used old BDUs, and sewed on strips of burlap sourced from potato bags at the mess hall. The strips were spray painted various colors and attached to the uniform. They certainly looked just a good if not better than anything I’ve seen for sale. DrunkDucky

Put your rifle/upper in a vise, and just look through your irons and adjust your EOTech by just getting the dot to overlay the front sight. You will be very, very close, most likely dead on, but still shoot to confirm. 2. Get new friends. I mean really, what kind of person just starts adjusting the hell out of someone’s sights , especially if they are so clueless that they don’t know the difference between the irons and the optic?

Homeowner dodges hatchet, shoots intruder, The News Tribune, Tacoma, Wash. 06/27/12
A homeowner was upstairs in his Tacoma, Wash. house when he heard a suspicious noise and shouted to see if someone was downstairs. A man replied, identifying himself as a police officer, which lured the homeowner downstairs. Once downstairs, the homeowner was confronted by two home invaders, one of whom immediately threw a hatchet at him. The home invader missed, allowing the homeowner time to retrieve a shotgun and shoot one of the criminals. The burglars fled the scene, but the wounded intruder was captured when he sought medical attention at a local hospital. Criminals of the Pacific Northwest beware; the incident marked the second armed citizen shooting in Tacoma in just over a week.

5/3/2012 4:01:13 PM I just got a 12″ SAR rail from seekins precision and it looks like it would be quite easy to remove it. The rail is held on by 2 screws on top and two on bottom. It would be quite easy to remove it in a matter of a minute or two. it seems like a pretty nice rail too, super light. Ive had a 512, 552, 511 and a exps2-2. Ive never had a single problem with them(the 511 drained batteries while off but it was well documented) I tried an Aimpoint and all i saw was a comet. Battery life isnt an issue for me i usually get 6 months out of a battery and i have enough CR123′s for 20yrs of run time for my eotech I am too. I own a 512. To me, the reticle is unmatched for close shooting. The 1 MOA center dot aids in long distance shots. However, I do not doubt that the Aimpoint is a more rugged optic. My 512 is back at L3 for a second time due to a reticle fade issue. I also had a pair of double AA’s leak on me while in the optics (which may have been more of the battery’s fault). Fortanatley, none of that gunk got inside of the optic. L3′s customer service is top notch – the best I’ve experienced in the firearms industry. I’ve had the 512 going on 3 years now, and they have always fixed it for free and turnaround time the last time I shipped it back was within a week. That being said though, if it’s going to priced competitively with a TA01NSN (my preferred ACOG), I’d just as soon get the Trijicon ACOG than bother with a solar powered RDS. Battery life isn’t an issue for me for reasons I’ve discussed in other threads. Oh, and I still think it’s ugly as sin. Aimpoint works flawlessly 24/7 for 8 years with 1 AA battery. That’s pretty hard to beat. The Trijicon SRS sounds better, but I’d still likely get an Aimpoint. CenterMass0

I purchased one about 1.5 months ago… now I’m playing the waiting game. I’ve spoke with several people from Surefire, they tested the 762 mini on a 16″ Larue OBR and were holding it in the 140-141db range (and before the haters jump in, no I don’t know the equipment they tested it on, the barometric pressure, temp, blah blah blah… Surefire Flashlights has a proven reputation and I believe their results). Everything I’ve seen and read on this can has been excellent, its built like a tank. Not to mention its the best QD system available. WazSolo

McFarland One-piece Gas Scope Rings Perhaps it’s a solution without a problem, but for many, reassembling an AR-15 involves aligning the gaps in the gas Scope Rings to make sure they are as far apart as possible. We do this to avoid all sorts of problems and malfunctions. Finally, there’s a solution that eliminates the need to adjust the Scope Rings ‘ alignment, and lessens the chance of jamming. How It’s Supposed To Work Upon firing, as the pressure of the gas generated by the burning propellant drives the projectile down the barrel and past the gas port, a small quantity of the gas is bled off through the gas port, gas tube, and bolt carrier key into the cylindrical section in the bolt carrier where it expands and drives the bolt carrier rearward. During the first rearward travel of the carrier, the bolt is rotated by the cam pin acted on by the bolt carrier cam slot.

That said, while the Uncle Mike Holsters IWB is OK, i wouldn’t use the pocket holster from Uncle Mike Holsters ; it doesn’t stay in your pocket when you draw, most of the time. FMJ
