Well after only one year of casual use, my EOTech 551 has failed. I changed out the batteries and it didn’t work. I tried another set of batteries and it still didn’t work.

THEN THE NIGHTMARE STARTED the first pic was taken as i said “RED DOT”. she now goes ape shit for those words!! if you say it, you’re basically fucked. the second pic is her scaling the walls for it AFTER AN HOUR OF ME PUTING IT (laser) AWAY!!! she runs around the house totally OBSESSIVE about finding “RED DOT”. she won’t leave me alone. any light what so ever triggers her into a insane-light hunter. I CAN NOT GET HER TO RELAX. and i don’t do it anymore, but she still constantly looks for “RED DOT”. HERE’S HER IF YOU SAY “RED DOT”. He is wrong to think or imply that the SR25 systems are lighter in weight, more reliable, and any grunt can swap parts on the rifle.
They aren’t and all repairs are done by the Armorer or at depot level.
While I advocate a precision field maintenance and repair tool kit, I am also well aware the average combat grunt can’t field strip a combat boot without breaking or losing something on or from the boot.
Their ability to clean and maintain combat weapons is usually even more embarassing.
