fortunatly the parts are easily switched out for real M-14 Scope Mounts parts or Garand rear sight components. As previosly mentioned the barrels are usualy chambered for 7.62mm nato not nesessarily .308 so do a headspace check every few hundred rounds and you should be good to go. Grip Pod

3/7/2008 12:10:54 AM I just got a CAA one and put it on my AR. I got it to replace a Tango down stubby VFG (which I loved) harris bipod and adapter. I replaced them because it 1) made the gun front heavy 2) I didn’t like the way it looked 3)My gun is for work and I am required to have a bipod available for it and didn’t want to carry it all around all the time. I didn’t want to use one of those cheap ones that clamp on the barrel because my barrel is a free floater. I haven’t had a chance to take it out to shoot it yet but it is big. It is just long enough to hang below a 30rd PMAG when not deployed.. The action on it is smooth and it truly swivels as CAA states and does snap back to center when lifted up. It also pushes back up into the grip very easily when you intentionally mean to but it hasn’t done it accidentally. If I get to shoot it soon, I’ll post a range report. The grip does lock up very tightly and I wasn’t able to feel any wobble in it. UPDATE: I went and shot a little with it today. it was snowing and about 25 degrees out so i wasn’t out long. the thing works! The only thing i noticed that some users might not like is that it tilts left or right very easily. If you are one of those guys that like to ball up your nonshooting hand fist and put it under the stock you probably wont like this grip. the weight of the gun will make it tilt (possibly attributed to my gun as its heavy – LMT MRP with compm4 and 3x magnifier on it which ads up). i had to put my hand on the grip at the point where the grip ends and bipod starts and grip there to keep it from tilting unless i pulled back very hard on the pistol grip. other than that i think its a neat piece. it is a robust piece of equipment. i also pulled back on it strongly while shooting and there was no give. i recommend this to anyone. +: integrated bipod, very sturdy, bipod function works perfectly with easy deployment and closure. swivels and pivots as advertised. -: tilts maybe a little too easily, some users might not like its physical size. if my girlfriend hadnt left town for the weekend with the camera I’d have pics. i can’t chastise her because she’s still riding the wave of getting me a reloading setup for Christmas.
