Michigan: House to Vote on Repeal of Permit-to-Purchase and Registration As Early As Tomorrow
The Michigan House of Representatives could vote on House Bill 5225 as early as tomorrow, June 13. HB 5225 is a landmark pro-gun bill that would eliminate the state handgun “permit-to-purchase” and registration requirements. HB 5225 and its amended language have already passed in the Michigan House Judiciary Committee and would require the federal standard of background checks for the purchase of handguns instead of the burdensome, unnecessary and duplicative state “permit” system.

The question is, if wanted to replace a CAR type AR-15 Stock with an A1/A2 stock, what would be needed to keep the a1/a2 AR-15 Stock from spinning about the buffer tube? i’m under the impression that the a1/a2 AR-15 Stock indexes off some sort of key or pin at the receiver. A1 and A2 AR-15 Stocks have a peg that fits in the lower, just like the end plate on the carbine stock. More than likely you will figure it out after buying one… Also, would an M4 type AR-15 Stock be a direct replacement for a CAR stock? What’s the difference between a CAR AR-15 Stock and an M4 stock. Shape.. The tubes are the same. I’ve owned 3 ARs and I never noticed. LOL Thanks So the lock nut is the only thing that keeps the CAR and M4 AR-15 Stocks from being canted? Seems like something that would be easy to screw up. Because it’s not completely foolproof, you have to figure that somebody would jerk their buffer tube loose with the torsion applied by the sling on the buttstock. I see there is a washer/collar with a pin in it, that’s probably just to keep from galling the receiver with the locking ring, correct? i don’t see how it could index the buffer tube at all. of course I’m just working from pictures from google. It’s my understanding that the Primary Arms and StrikeFire aren’t always exactly the same diameter as an Aimpoint CompAimpoint Comp M2/M3. The RS mount is intended for the Aimpoint CompAimpoint Comp M2/M3 sights but will work with other less expensive sights such as the Primary Arms or StrikeFire most of the time. I have a StrikeFire mounted to one of my AK’s with the RS mount and haven’t had any issues. As mentioned, a single wrap of electrical tape should remedy any issues you have if you do run into this problem. nsz

It’s also a great way to accidentally knock your weapon over and completely fuck the zero on an expensive and fragile optic or laser.
The spread of the legs is too narrow and too low, the natural center of balance for the weapon while it’s supported is awful.
This is especially true when traversing between targets. If you need a bipod, use a bipod.
Seems like if you’re using high dollar lasers and sensitive optics then you’d be using a bipod for your purposes.
I don’t think of the grip-pod as a bi-pod….but more as just something to rest the weapon on, high up in the prone or on obstacles kneeling… that travels well with the weapon.

In the picture below you can see that the whole optics setup has plenty of room to be moved forward. That allows you to adjust for best eye relief. Usually cantilever scope mounts do not cost much more than a straight vertical mount. Cantilever scope mounts could be considered as more versatile. There’s nothing wrong with using a straight vertical mount. Even a straight scope mounts should allow you to use flip up BUIS behind most red dot optics. When you search for pics of people using a red dot with a magnifier … you’ll find that most everyone uses a cantilever mount. I’m actually having a hard time finding a single pic of someone using a straight scope mounts on their red dots with a magnifier behind it. backbencher
